Bibby's Angling Club
Our waters
River Trent Great Haywood
This is a recent acquisition  to our waters covering a distance of 2 miles upstream from Essex Bridge to 500 yards above Hoo Mill Weir. There is good fishing to be had on this stretch of the Trent including Chub to over 5lb, perch to 4lb, double figure barbel and pike. Good shoals of dace, roach, chub, perch and gudgeon can be found together with the occasional bream, grayling and trout. Recent matches have produced mixed bags of 20lb plus. Maps and access points are available on joining. It is a classic stick float water although stronger ledger gear is recommended for the barbel the best caught 11-4 although larger specimens have been lost.
River Blythe
The Club has a pristine stretch of this class 1 river which given its size produces good catches of fish all year round but especially in winter. The club has over 2 miles of river running from Manor Golf Club downstream past the Blythe Inn. There are large shoals of chub and dace all along this stretch. Roach, perch, pike and gudgeon can also be found in certain spots. Rainbow and Brown trout abound  with the best Brownie weighing in at 10lb 1oz, in recent years fish to 7lb 8oz have been authenticated. Whilst it responds best to a small river approach catch and move big catches can be had from individual pegs.
The Willows, Knenhall  - Jono's Pool
There are 3 pools on the Willows site with easy access and parking the first being within yards of parking. The pools are well laid out with well placed stages for easy fishing. Jono's pool comprises of 16 pegs with many different species of fish providing good sport all year round. There are silver fish in abundance with a good head of crucians, F 1's. mirrors and commons into double figures together with perch, orfe, ghosties, goldfish and barbel. Matches on here are often won with 40lb plus weights of mixed bags with the fish responding well to pole tactics and waggler.
Dave's and Jack's Pools
Dave and Jacks make up the rest of the willows. Dave's is a good size pool over an acre in size 200 yards up the hill from Jono's. Lovely mature pool with margin vegetation, lily pads and a small island. Contains the same species as Jono's but the fish here tend to be of a bigger size especially the carp with many doubles and the occasional 20lb+ being caught. Catches of 60lb are not uncommon. Pole, waggler and feeder all score well on their day. Jacks is a smaller pool of 10 pegs with it being the furthest away it is under fished but there is a good head of fish and if you want to get away from it all this is for you.
